My journey into the field began with a love for basketball and self improvement. I played collegiate basketball, so I began looking into ways to improve performance. I started lifting and I was hooked. Soon after, I graduated with a degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from Dominican University, and am currently pursuing a Master's degree from the University of Tampa in Exercise and Sports Nutrition. I currently work in the Human Performance Lab under the tutalage of Doctor Jacob Wilson. One day I would like to get my PhD and continue doing research, teach, and possibly consult athletes.

I was first introduced into this field when I attended and graduated from Illinois College in Jacksonville, Illinois with a degree in Biology with a focus in Exercise Science.  During my undergraduate work I played 4 years of basketball as well as 2 years of baseball.  Due to my fascination of human performance, I accepted a job as a sports performance coach for middle school, high school, and collegiate athletes.  After working for a year, I developed a strong passion for research which led me to the University of Tampa to pursue a graduate degree in Exercise and Nutritonal Science and complete research under Dr. Jacob Wilson.  Future plans are to attend a doctoral program to acquire a PhD in a nutrition related field.  I have many interests in terms of my research; however, my primary focus is nutrition and body composition.
